Thank you, Paint Girl for this wonderful award!

Here is the information on this award:

"This award is dedicated to those horse lovers and riders that inspire others to go deeper in ability, knowledge and understanding of the equine(s) they have been entrusted to."

"The good of the horse is the ultimate goal apart from pressure's to achieve ribbons and fit into lesson schedules."

"These riders are fearless, when it comes to weather conditions and the forecasting of them...being with their horses, fills these folks soul and takes the cares out of the daily routines."

"They are unconditionally loving to the horse and may have rescued it from known ailment or living condition. Others have researched and purchased/acquired their horse, to find a difficulty in temperament or a physical burden within the animal. Yet, being dedicated, they have persevered to proudly be in partnership with their horse, lovingly striving for deeper awareness between them."

"They might have been riding for years and suddenly had an accident that takes them away from the great joy and freedom they have, being aboard such a magnificent animal. They have allowed the healing horse to rise in their hearts once again, and beckon them back."

Intrepid Riders Faction~ "We strive to go where others only dare to go with our horse loves...healing, riding, playing, camping, jumping, swimming and traveling down the trails of life...with the horse in heart~overcoming many obstacles and sometimes weather, to ride!

"There are not many rules to this award- just:

1. That you give it to only one person

2. Link back to this post, so they may have an understanding of it's nature, and

3. You may use any or all of the above written descriptions."

Now, I had to give this some serious thought. I mean, how many of these awards have you send out just one? None, that I know of. Most tell you to send out six or seven more, and before you know it, everyone's got one, or two, or three...and somehow the specialness of the award is diminished. So I'm right proud of the fact that Paint Girl selected me to give this to, and I wanted to be sure I was selecting the right person to hand it off to.

And that person is none other than Andrea at Mustang Saga!

Andrea outbid Darling and I at our first mustang adoption as we attempted to get a red dun gelding that Darling had dubbed "More Better" (he was more better than the rest, she said.) We didn't know Andrea then, but one day she showed up on the mustang forum and she shyly announced that she's the one who'd gotten the leggy Coyote Lakes 2 year old. It was Andrea's first mustang, just like Quiet Storm had ended up being our first. We've grown up together in this mustang world, and I'm proud to be able to call her friend.

If you've not visited Andrea's blog, you should. She's currently working with a gelding she found on Craigslist. He'd been at the same adoption we'd been at; I believe he was the high selling horse there that day, and his owners had been able to do nothing with him. He was still wearing the original halter they'd put on him over three years ago when Andrea picked him up. She offered to work with him, and would they like him back if she could make progress? Yes, they would...

And to read the rest of the story, you'll simply need to go visit Andrea!
